As part of our ongoing commit to sustainability, we are looking for a dedicated Environmental officer to join our team in Leidschendam, the Netherlands.

As Sustainability Support Officer at Fugro - Fleet services, the marine division of Fugro, you will lead the development of our Environmental Management System (ISO 14001). Your primary focus will be on ensuring compliance with international environmental maritime regulations. You will play a key role in identifying risks and opportunities for continual improvement in our environmental performance across our 26 managed vessels. Additionally, you will collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to drive our sustainability agenda.

• You develop and implement procedures, standards and guidelines that ensure vessel operations are always following environmental standards and regulations;

• You conduct training sessions or workshops to raise awareness about sustainability practices;

• You coordinate with cross-functional teams to implement environmental practices across different departments;

• You collect, analyse, and interoperate data related to sustainability metrics, such as greenhouse gas emissions and waste generation;

• You prepare and present the Management review where you evaluate effectiveness of certain measures and identify areas for improvement and notify risks;

• You asses audits and evaluations to assess the effectiveness of the system.

• You can write policies, procedures, and reports;

• You have experience in maintaining environmental management system (ISO 14001), within the maritime industry;

• You have knowledge of international shipping regulations, environmental standards, and industry best practices, like IMO's convention for the prevention of pollution from ships (MARPOL);

• You have the ability to work independently and prioritise tasks.
